A shared voice.
A growing repertoire.

Elegia Duo unites oboist Michael Isaac Ripple and pianist Meng Yuan through expressive artistry and a commitment to expanding the oboe and piano repertoire.

Both graduates of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Ripple serves as Visiting Assistant Professor of Oboe at the University of Memphis, where he completed his Doctor of Musical Arts. Yuan is Adjunct Instructor of Collaborative Piano at Arkansas State University.

Together, they have commissioned three new works for oboe and piano, premiered at the 2026 International Double Reed Society Conference. Upcoming commissions include works by Ken Thomson and Mahir Cetiz.
