My dissertation has been added to the @idrsofficial digital repository, the final step in my publication process for this research and document!

3 years! I am so proud of my two graduating seniors, Katie and Carson! Both are off to college in the fall and have been a joy to teach and watch grow as people and oboists. It has been an honor to be your teacher!

Tomorrow I will be performing a set of original improvisations and works by Freihofner and Pandit in dialogue with suchitramattaistudio’s latest installation at the brooksmuseum in the central atrium. The thematic material of the improvisations will be focused on the centering power of breath, and will be supported by original electronics. This is the first performance of this type that I am publicly sharing, and am looking forward to the experience! Tickets are available on the Brooks Museum website and at the door!

With the academic semester coming to a close, I am looking ahead to a summer of music filled with exciting rep to learn, rep to polish, collaborations with friends. Kicking off with a multidisciplinary performance @brooksmuseum in the installation of @suchitramattaistudio and music for oboe and fixed media. Then I will be heading up to Cleveland for a performance of @jenniferhigdon1's Oboe Concerto with @clevelandrepertoryorchestra led by the FABULOUS @masconductor! Back to Memphis for engagements with @uofmscheidt and the Belvedere Chamber Music Festival, before heading up to Oxford for the @idrsofficial conference. Two programs at the conference featuring the debuts of music by @thisisnathanhall, @currierjane, and @dawsonhull with @myuanyz. Then switching gears for a duo recital with my oboe kindred spirit, @rachelmessingmusic! Packing the reed tools and heading up to @massmoca for the 2026 @bangonacan Summer Festival to round it all out!

Last evening, I shared my final recital as a student and presented on my dissertation which has been defended and published. This would not have been possible without the help and support of so many people, family and friends and colleagues - but today I want to specifically thank Dr. Vigneau. Thank you for the investment in me and my future that you have made time and time again. Another announcement then is in order… Beginning in the fall of 2026, I will be the Visiting Professor of Oboe. Honored is an understatement, and I promise to do my utmost to serve the institution which has been so formative in my professional development. @uofmscheidt @uofmemphis Go Tigers Go!
